Member of the Law Society’s Children Law or Family Law Accreditation Scheme
Management / leadership experience

Job Responsibility

Responsible for a team of Solicitors, Paralegals and Legal Assistants
Successfully manage your own caseload
Ensure your teams professional knowledge and level of competence are being measured and developed continuously identifying any training needs
Undertake own advocacy and representation of the clients in court
Fully instruct counsel, agents and experts when required
Ensure all court orders are read and actioned accordingly
Provide clear and comprehensive advice to clients and progress their cases to conclusion

Requirements

Qualified solicitor with experience in Private Family Law
Proven ability to manage a varied caseload and supervise junior staff
Strong organisational, communication, and client management skills
Ability to meet billing targets and time recording requirements

Job Responsibility

Handle fee-earning work related to all Private Family Law matters, including divorce, cohabitation, separation, financial disputes, and child contact issues
Supervise and support secretarial/admin staff, paralegals, and junior Fee Earners within the Family Department
Manage all client matters allocated by the Head of Department or partners, ensuring work is completed in line with office procedures and quality standards
Progress client matters efficiently, keeping clients regularly updated on progress and costs
Maintain high standards of client care, ensuring confidentiality and security of client information
Escalate any issues or concerns immediately to the Head of Department
Achieve billing and time recording targets, with responsibility for credit control on your own matters in liaison with Cashiers
Comply with Solicitors' Accounts Rules and the SRA Code of Conduct 2011
Foster clear communication with other personnel in the practice and build strong relationships with external institutions
Supervise and develop support staff and fee earners, as agreed with the Head of Department
