Job Description

We are now looking for Supervising Solicitors nationwide. NLS is a well-established law firm looking to grow our teams in the future, we have a strong commitment to providing high-quality legal aid services to vulnerable clients. Our Family Panel Supervisors and Solicitors are dedicated to supporting individuals though some of the most challenging periods of their lives, delivering expert legal advice with professionalism, empathy and integrity. We are always looking for experienced Supervising Solicitors as we grow to join our busy Family department. This role is ideal for a solicitor with a Family Panel Accreditation and experience in managing a varied load of family cases and are looking to play a key role in maintaining and developing a high-quality practice.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise and support solicitors, trainees, paralegals and legal assistants within your team
  • Maintain a personal caseload of Family matters including: Private law children matter, Domestic abuse cases, NMO / PSO / OOO, Divorce & Finance (not essential)
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members
  • Conduct files reviews and ensure quality assurance procedures are followed
  • Maintain excellent client care standards and professional conduct

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
  • Family Panel Accreditation – or working towards
  • Legal Aid experience essential
  • Experience of mentoring and or managing junior staff
  • Strong advocacy, case management and client care skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the Legal Aid Agency procedures and compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload while supporting a team
