Job Description

An award-winning legal practice based in London is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join their specialist team working across abduction and modern family matters. This is a permanent position for a Mid Associate or Manager level Family Solicitor looking to develop their career within a high-profile and progressive environment. The successful Family Solicitor will be joining a respected family law department known for handling complex, sensitive cases involving international child abduction, surrogacy, and assisted reproduction. The Family Solicitor will be involved in a wide range of private and public law matters and will have the opportunity to work with leading professionals in the field.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage your own caseload of intricate family law matters, particularly those involving cross-border child abduction and modern family structures
  • Represent parents, carers, and guardians, often in urgent or high-conflict situations
  • Provide strategic legal advice throughout proceedings
  • Work closely with colleagues at all levels
  • Contribute to legal developments within the practice
  • Ensure the highest standards of client care
  • Play a part in influencing future legal practice in evolving areas

Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience with strong exposure to child abduction and/or modern family law, including surrogacy and parental orders
  • Experience with the Hague Convention, wardship, and international jurisdictional issues
  • Membership of specialist panels such as Resolution or the Law Society Children Panel would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage complex, sensitive cases independently
