Are you an experienced Family Solicitor or Legal Executive passionate about protecting the rights of children and families? Gillespie Recruitment is working with an established law firm to recruit a Family Solicitor / Legal Executive – Care Proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded family law team handling a varied caseload of public and private law matters. This role would suit someone confident, compassionate and motivated, with strong advocacy skills and experience managing care proceedings independently.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing a varied caseload of family care matters
  • Representing clients in public and private law proceedings
  • Advising parents, children and guardians in care proceedings
  • Preparing legal documentation, statements and applications
  • Conducting advocacy where appropriate
  • Liaising with social workers, guardians, courts and third parties
  • Maintaining accurate case records and compliance standards
  • Providing high levels of client care and clear legal advice
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff

Requirements

  • 5 years PQE in Family Law
  • Membership of the Law Society Children Panel
  • Experience handling care proceedings independently
  • Strong knowledge of public and private family law
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and complex cases
  • A compassionate and client-focused approach
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
