Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, with special attention to vulnerable populations such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, or older adults
Educate and engage patients in self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances
Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests such as complete blood counts (CBCs)
Maintain timely, complete and detailed records of patients’ personal health information in the electronic medical records system and keep such information confidential in accordance with legal requirements
Keep abreast of developments in nursing, medicine and regulatory processes and payer systems such as Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private sources, maintaining competence in clinical practice with participation in continuing educational experiences and maintenance of Basic Life Support certification
Perform all services in compliance with the most current, accepted professional standards and the standards of the Joint Commission

Provide emergency medical treatment to Westside patients as needed, and provide emergency medical treatment as requested or appropriate to non-Westside patients who are at or near a location where the FNP is present for the purpose of providing services within Westside’s scope of services
