National Legal Service is a well-established Legal Aid law firm specialising in Family and Children law, we pride ourselves on our extensive training and development of our employees and we are committed to fostering a workplace that is inclusive, respectful, and reflective in the diverse communities we serve. We are now looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team in our London office, the working hours are Monday – Friday 9.30am – 5.30pm, hybrid working with 2 days in the office and 3 days from home. As a Legal Assistant you be supporting the Supervising Solicitor with the initial client contact and legal aid application processing along with drafting client care letters.

Job Responsibility

  • Initial contact with client to discuss means and merits process
  • Completing legal aid application forms and submitting through the CCMS portal
  • Contacting courts and 3rd parties
  • Compiling court bundles
  • Drafting client care letters

Requirements

  • You must have a law degree or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of legal aid applications and CCMS / Legal Aid portal
  • Ability to manage demanding and conflicting caseloads
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A desire to progress your own career
