Job Description

A well-established San Francisco–based law firm is seeking a Family Law Paralegal to support its active family law practice. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a paralegal with experience assisting attorneys on family law matters in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The role offers substantive responsibility, direct attorney support, and the potential for long-term placement.

Job Responsibility

  • Support attorneys with family law matters including dissolution, custody, support, and related proceedings
  • Draft pleadings, declarations, discovery responses, and settlement documents
  • Prepare and organize financial disclosures and supporting documentation
  • Manage case files, calendars, and court deadlines
  • Coordinate service of process, filings, and court appearances

Requirements

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience
  • Prior family law paralegal experience preferred

  • Comfortable working on-site in San Francisco five days per week

  • Upload filed documents into case management systems and verify that records are complete, accurate, and easy to retrieve
  • Maintain attorney calendars by scheduling hearings, meetings, and key deadlines while helping prevent conflicts or missed dates
  • Enter billable time and case-related activity promptly to support accurate records and timely client invoicing
  • Track court deadlines, filing requirements, and outstanding tasks to help cases move forward efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with legal staff and attorneys to ensure filings, communications, and case updates are handled with precision and urgency
