Job Responsibility:

  • Draft, proofread, and prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery, settlement agreements, and court forms
  • Manage electronic and physical case files with accuracy and care
  • Assist attorneys with hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Conduct family law research to support case strategy
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties
  • Track deadlines, maintain calendars, and coordinate scheduling
  • Collect and organize financial, medical, and personal documents
  • Handle e‑filings and traditional court filings across South Carolina
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and provide empathetic support to clients
  • Provide additional administrative and case‑related assistance as needed

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of family law paralegal experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of South Carolina family court procedures and filing systems
  • Strong legal drafting skills and proficiency with case management software + Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced environment
  • Compassionate, professional demeanor—even in emotionally charged situations
  • Paralegal certification or associate degree preferred (experience considered)
