Boutique law firm in San Jose, CA is seeking a Family Law Attorney to support clients through all stages of the litigation process in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This hybrid role requires regular on-site work and is ideal for a motivated attorney with strong family law experience, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload from initial filing through resolution. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling contested family law matters, client counseling, court appearances, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation. Based on general knowledge.
Job Responsibility
Manage family law matters through the full litigation lifecycle, including pleadings, discovery, law and motion, settlement efforts, trial preparation, and post-judgment proceedings
Represent clients in a range of family law matters, including dissolution, custody and visitation, support, property division, and domestic violence-related matters
Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, declarations, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
Prepare and review Judicial Council forms and related family law filings
Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written arguments in support of client positions
Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery, reviewing document production, and preparing for depositions
Advise clients on case strategy, legal rights, and practical considerations throughout the course of representation
Work closely with paralegals, staff, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel to move matters forward efficiently
Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, trial briefs, and hearing binders
Requirements
1-5+ years of experience practicing California-based family law
Experience managing the full litigation lifecycle
Strong knowledge of California family law procedures, court rules, and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and client service
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with regular on-site attendance in San Jose, CA
