Job Description:

A well-established law firm in Lake Forest, IL is seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of practice with a strong focus on family law and a passion for advocacy. Trial experience is highly preferred, and the role offers an excellent opportunity for motivated attorneys who wish to gain further trial exposure and career growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a caseload of family law matters including, but not limited to, divorce, child custody, child support, maintenance, and related proceedings
  • Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
  • Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and depositions
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic counsel to clients
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure exceptional client service and case outcomes
  • Contribute to our firm's positive, collegial, and efficient workplace culture

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active Illinois law license
  • 3-6 years of experience practicing law, including substantial family law exposure
  • Prior trial or contested hearing experience strongly preferred
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Driven and hardworking with a strong work ethic
