Job Description

The Family Hub Service supports children and young people aged 0-19, up to 25 with SEND, and their families. As a Family Hub Support Worker, you will be based in either Aylesbury or High Wycombe whilst working across multiple Family Hub sites and communities. This role is about working in centres to be able to meet and greet parents and families for advice or information, run universal sessions with themes identified through working with the community and liaise with and support professionals to provide a holistic service to families specific to their presenting need.

Job Responsibility

  • Facilitating universal sessions and targeted groups for children, young people and families
  • Working with young people aged 11 and above in 1:1 and group settings both face to face and online
  • Delivering open access Youth provision in Family Hubs
  • Delivering targeted courses to improve emotional health and wellbeing
  • Providing information, advice and guidance to young people
  • Working collaboratively with schools and community groups
  • Welcoming visitors to Family Hubs
  • Greeting visitors and providing direct support through information gathering
  • Liaising with professionals to provide a holistic service
  • Ensuring effective transition between universal and targeted services

Requirements

  • experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and families in public, private or voluntary sector (such as Childcare, Health, Social Care, Youth Justice, Education, Youth Work or other relevant field)
