We are seeking an exceptional Family Help Supervisor to join our dedicated Family Help Service and play a key role in delivering high-quality early intervention and family support services across the city. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced supervisor, manager or senior practitioner looking to take the next step in their career within a forward-thinking and ambitious service. As a Family Help Supervisor, you will support the Team Manager in leading a skilled and committed team delivering vital support to children, young people and families facing complex challenges. You will provide reflective supervision, case oversight and professional guidance to Family Help Workers, Team Around the Family Practitioners and Early Years Practitioners, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, risk management and evidence-based intervention. Working collaboratively with partners across education, health, social care and community services, you will help families access the right support at the right time, reducing risk and improving long-term outcomes.
Job Responsibility
Leading, supervising and developing a team of up to 10 practitioners
Providing high-quality reflective supervision and case oversight
Supporting complex decision-making and safeguarding practice
Promoting excellent outcomes for children, young people and families
Monitoring performance, quality assurance and service standards
Developing strong multi-agency partnerships across the family help system
Supporting service development, innovation and continuous improvement
Deputising for the Team Manager when required
Driving a culture of learning, accountability and excellence
Requirements
A relevant professional qualification (Social Work, Youth Work, Education, Health, Youth Justice or equivalent)
Significant experience working within children's services
A minimum of 2 years' supervisory or management experience
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and risk management
Experience supervising practitioners and improving performance
Excellent understanding of Early Help and integrated family support services
Strong partnership working and relationship-building skills
The ability to analyse complex information and make sound decisions
A commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement
