Due to the increased demands across Children & Family Services, Randstad are keen to recruit experienced Family Contact Workers who will become an integral part of an experienced Social Care team providing invaluable support to senior Social Workers and management teams in the delivery & provision of efficient and effective services to children & families.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for assisting social work managers in the provision of quality social work services to children and families
Working within a Children's Services Team undertaking tasks allocated by the Social Work Team Manager to support social workers in the discharge of their duties
Undertake work with children and/or parents/carers as directed by the Social Work Manager, Senior Social Work Practitioner or Social Worker in keeping with any support/protection/care plan and in their family support cases
Complete tasks such as coordinating family support, diversionary and respite services, sourcing appropriate family support services and other resources
Collate essential information about children and families and report this back to the Social Worker/ Team Manager to assist in the assessment of the families circumstances and needs
Assist children and/or parents/carers with practical tasks including transport in respect of identified appointments, delivering advice and guidance in relation to parenting tasks for example routines and boundaries, behaviour management, homecare management, budgeting and essential form filling as necessary
Assist in delivery of contact services including the supervision of contact arrangements. This will include transport issues and ensuring completion of appropriate documentation
Report to Team Manager and/or Social Worker immediately all identified child protection concerns or other areas of concern or risk identified
Support social work staff as requested with administrative tasks in relation to making referrals to other agencies, setting up meetings, making arrangements for family time including room bookings and supporting with duty tasks
Requirements:
NISCC Registration Essential
6-12 months previous Social Care experience essential
Previous experience within Children & Families highly advantageous
Social Work Degree, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in a Health & Social Care discipline essential
NVQ Level 2 with sufficient work based experience also considered
Willingness to undergo an Occupational Health check including submission of immunisation records as required
Valid UK Driving licence essential
Effective communicator
Ability to prioritise and manage a varied caseload
Ability to build rapport with parents, young people & social care professionals
Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role)

What we offer:
Band 4 pay scale £13.57 per hour
Full Time Hours x 37.5 per week (Part time hours also considered pending experience)
