Job Description:

Based at Deception Bay and working with the Glugor Young Parents team, this fixed term role to January 2027 works with parents/carers and families to provide case management and mentoring to support families to thrive. You will also plan, develop, and implement interactive workshops for small groups. Our Glugor Young Parents program operates from a purpose-built facility incorporating training rooms and children's rooms within a natural setting to support young parents, carers, infants and young children (0-5 years) who live in the Moreton Bay Region.

Job Responsibility:

  • undertake intake, assessments, and program deliver including facilitating or co-facilitating group workshops
  • work with parents to develop and manage collaborative case plans and determine appropriate interventions aligned with their goals
  • support parents to understand their child’s needs and positive impact of the parent-child relationship based in attachment theory
  • coordinate a range of referrals and supports to internal and external services and provide assistance to engage with these services
  • engage families in outreach activities and events, in home and in community

Requirements:

  • relevant bachelor level qualification with a minimum of three years’ experience working with disadvantaged and diverse families
  • demonstrated experience in applying the principles of a strengths based, trauma informed case management framework
  • demonstrated ability to establish and participate in networks for the delivery of services to young families
  • demonstrated experience in workshop planning and delivery for young people
  • knowledge and understanding of the diverse range of issues impacting on families and ability to engage with young families from diverse backgrounds
  • knowledge and understanding of 0-5 years early childhood development
