A fantastic to join a successful and growing food manufacturer as they strengthen their technical team and recruiting for Factory Technical Compliance Manager for a hands-on, site-based role with real influence across operations, quality, and food safety.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage site-wide Quality & Food Safety Management Systems
  • Ensure compliance with customer standards, BRC, IFS, and major retailer Codes of Practice
  • Lead HACCP implementation, validation, and maintenance
  • Manage internal audit programmes and close out non-conformances on time
  • Investigate and resolve quality and food safety issues with corrective and preventive actions
  • Maintain audit-ready systems and documentation at all times
  • Provide floor-based coaching on GMP and hygiene practices
  • Lead preparation for customer and third-party audits
  • Maintain schedules, reports, documentation and traceability systems
  • Deliver training and embed a strong food safety culture
  • Support product recall and crisis management procedures
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects impacting technical compliance

Requirements:

  • Experience in Technical Management, Quality, or Compliance within food manufacturing or retail
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, food safety systems, and third-party standards
  • Familiarity with BRC, IFS, and major retailer requirements
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong factory floor presence
  • Excellent communicator with strong influencing skills
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management capabilities
  • Competent IT skills and experience producing reports and documentation

  • Own and maintain block library- ensuring all blocks and grading align with the fit strategy and evolve with customer insight and new category development
  • Lead fit sessions across all categories - capturing outcomes clearly and ensuring they’re actioned through updated specs and blocks within the timeframe set by the critical path.
  • Manage the sealing for the development samples: Protos, SMS, PPS, and Top Samples - ensuring technical clarity and timely turnarounds
  • Work directly with suppliers to resolve construction, fit and quality issues at both sample and bulk stages
  • Conduct factory visits (UK and overseas) to monitor inline production, QC standards, and recommend process improvements
  • Review and analyse testing reports, AQL inspections and QC data, escalating issues and ensuring learnings feed back into the process
  • Own compliance and testing standards across all regions and product categories - ensuring we meet legal, performance and brand thresholds
  • Own and improve internal QA and tech processes - including spec creation, tolerance setting, grading tools, and tech pack documentation
  • Line manage and coach a Junior Garment Tech, helping build internal expertise as our range and volume grow
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers- ensuring tech issues are resolved quickly, and fit standards are consistently understood and upheld
