Job Description

Hadrian's Quality team is seeking a Factory Lead, Quality to champion our commitment to product quality at our new facility. In a dynamic environment focused on automation and process excellence, the Factory Lead will oversee the quality inspection operation, drive continuous improvement, and lead a team of technicians and specialists. This position requires strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to ensuring all aspects of our inspection processes meet the highest standards of precision and efficiency.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop, lead and manage the inspection process operations for a full series of units according to the inspection plan
  • Ensure comprehensive execution of manual inspections, certification/paperwork reviews, and analysis of inspection data (CMM reports and manual inspections)
  • Coordinate with source inspectors to enforce compliance and maintain high-quality standards
  • Provide strategic feedback to CAM and engineering teams to resolve root causes of issues identified during inspections
  • Mentor, train, and manage specialists and technicians in manual and mechanical inspection tools and processes
  • Develop and implement training programs in collaboration with internal training teams to systemically enhance team competency and ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Assign tasks and oversee performance, ensuring optimal output and quality
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance inspection efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering (and other cross-functional teams) on idea generation and improvement project implementations
  • Lead initiatives to standardize procedures and elevate overall inspection quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the area, and own station layout improvements for streamlined operation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment
  • At least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Proficiency with hand and mechanical inspection techniques
  • Proven track record in a high-volume production role within aerospace or another industry with stringent quality requirements
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Nice to have

  • Aerospace quality and inspection experience in a build-to-print environment
  • Experience in operations within a QMS driven environment
  • Experience in manufacturing within high precision machining processes
  • Familiarity with optical measurement devices (comparator, structured light scanning, optical profilometers)
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience owning and/or driving continuous improvement projects with Engineering support
