Barbaricum is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee and manage security operations across the organization in support of federal contracting requirements. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for all security matters, ensuring compliance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements and other applicable regulations. The selected candidate will be responsible for administering security programs, managing clearance processes, and supporting classified system compliance. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders, government representatives, and partner organizations to maintain and enhance Barbaricum’s security posture across its facilities.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary security point of contact for government customers, partner organizations, and internal stakeholders
Administer and maintain compliance with NISPOM requirements (32 CFR Part 117) and other applicable federal security regulations
Process personnel security clearances, visit requests, and related administrative security actions
Manage and maintain the company’s Facility Clearance (FCL) and support successful government audits and inspections
Develop, manage, and deliver security education, training, and awareness programs for cleared personnel
Oversee and enforce physical security measures to protect personnel, facilities, information, and property
Serve as Insider Threat Program Senior Official and support insider threat program requirements
Provide oversight of classified information systems to ensure compliance with security authorization requirements
Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures
Verify implementation of information system security controls and ensure compliance with authorization packages
Ensure all users have appropriate clearances, authorizations, and training prior to system access
Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure ongoing compliance
Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security controls are properly restored and functioning
Maintain and manage security documentation, ensuring accessibility to authorized personnel
Ensure audit records are properly collected, protected, and reviewed
Coordinate across business units to ensure consistent application of security policies and procedures
Requirements:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
FSO certification through the STEPP program
3+ years of experience supporting a government contractor security office
Demonstrated knowledge of NISPOM requirements and industrial security best practices
Experience preparing for, managing, and successfully passing government security audits and inspections
Experience developing and administering security training and awareness programs
Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or other federal customers
Experience managing physical security requirements in a cleared environment
Experience supporting classified information systems security
Knowledge of eMASS or similar system authorization and compliance tools
Strong understanding of personnel security processes, including clearance and access management
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Experience with Access Control and Compliance Systems (ACCS)
Understanding of Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM)
Experience with Communications Security (COMSEC) programs
