Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Resource Integration Office team to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA’s Langley Research Center (LaRC). This position reports directly to the Integrated Services Center Manager. This role may support a single building or several buildings.

Job Responsibility

  • Principal contact for all facility related matters, safety and environmental concerns including chemical tracking
  • Support maintenance, procedures, inspections, and annual training concerning facility infrastructure and equipment
  • Communicate and coordinate all required work with all interested parties
  • Perform daily walk-throughs and various inspections
  • Maintain library of, and draft new as appropriate, alarm response procedures for facility equipment
  • Provide initial assessment of issues in the facility
  • Read and interpret blueprints and working drawings
  • Serve as an approval source for changes made to drawings
  • Coordinate discrepancies and equipment failures with responsible parties
  • Maintain electrical Lockout/Tag out procedures, log, and tags
  • Maintain facility documentation known as a Facility Resume
  • Oversee safe conduct of maintenance activities, facility specific safety procedures, inspections, periodic and annual safety training
  • Maintain facility’s chemical inventory, chemical tracking and database updates working with researchers
  • Support Government Environmental Management Office multimedia environmental audits as well as internal audits
  • Interface frequently with building occupants and customer organizational management
  • Provide customer organization with weekly reports and outstanding facility concerns

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Two (2) years of college with courses in engineering or associated disciplines such as facilities or maintenance preferred, and six (6) years of related experience
  • Current U.S. Driver’s License (Real ID required)
  • Knowledge of MAXIMO or other (Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS))
  • Ability to develop and manipulate MS Excel spreadsheets or equivalent
  • Experience with MS Project preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with or managing electrical and mechanical systems and HVAC knowledge preferred
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and written with effective use of visual aids
  • Should be able to use computing technology for problem analysis and solution
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
