Job Description

Located at the Akkerhage site in Ghent, three recently built hotels operate side by side: Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Residence Inn by Marriott Ghent and Courtyard by Marriott Ghent. Together, they offer a total capacity of 405 rooms, complemented by a state-of-the-art event center, several meeting rooms and high-quality restaurants. To strengthen our technical department in this diverse and dynamic environment, we are looking for a motivated Facility Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be jointly responsible for the technical management of a modern infrastructure where hospitality and guest experience are key.

Job Responsibility

  • Together with three colleagues, you provide technical support for daily operational activities
  • You carry out daily technical inspections of guest rooms, technical installations, public areas and event spaces
  • You perform minor repairs to the building and furniture
  • You resolve technical malfunctions and coordinate with external contractors when required
  • You participate in an on-call duty system (rotational) to ensure continuity of operations
  • You contribute to efficient energy management and our sustainability objectives
  • You have a strong focus on safety: you strictly follow safety procedures and monitor compliance
  • You maintain technical administration and maintenance reports

Requirements

  • A technical education, relevant work experience or you are a highly experienced and skilled DIY professional
  • Basic knowledge of electricity is essential. Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and AV technology is a strong asset
  • A strong awareness of safety, quality and sustainability
  • A good command of Dutch and English
  • Flexibility with regard to working hours
