The Facility, Housekeeping and Laundry Manager is responsible for supervising the cleaning and laundry activities of staff at a Long-Term Care facility in Tavistock, ON. The Facility, Housekeeping and Laundry Manager is also responsible for ensuring faciity equipment is in proper working order, and performing general maintenance of equipment, monitors, alarms and grounds. This role is also responsible for obtaining quotations and scheduling external trades and contractors for equipment repair outside the scope of routine maintenance.
Job Responsibility:
Determine the needs of the clients' operation and ensure that the appropriate Aramark resources are engaged
Achieves high standards of quality service, cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with legislative requirements
Manages a team of 12 staff, scheduling, training, orientation, appraisals
manages call-ins
Conducts departmental rounds to ensure all safety, emergency, building and support systems are functioning properly
Coordinates maintenance and repairs with outside contractors for electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, fire panels and alarm systems
Ensures outside work is performed such as snow removal, salting, grass cutting, gardening
Ensures the adequate stock of housekeeping supplies and equipment
conducts inventory counts and places orders as required
Participates in committee meetings on Infection Control, Quality Management, Occupational Health and Safety
Participates in budget preparation and control process for 3 departments
Participates in the “On Call” rotational schedule as required
Requirements:
Requires 3-5 years of related experience and 1-2 years’ experience in a management role
Knowledge of facilities, HVAC equipment, building management systems, fire alarm and sprinkler systems
Ability to manage a budget
Computer skills including Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook Mail
Ability to read and interpret building prints and drawings
Ability to work “on call” during rotational schedule
