Job Responsibility

  • Assisting in the overall operation of the facility and achievement of production targets
  • Demonstrating an exceptionally high level of customer service
  • Providing leadership to other Facility Assistants
  • Monitoring safe operating procedures and maintaining the corresponding documentation
  • Contributing to the movement of grain by loading/unloading shipments
  • Assisting the Operations Manager in mentoring and educating Facility Assistants in grading, inventory management and safety practices
  • Exercising competency in grading canola, wheat, oats and barley
  • Binning and blending of all incoming grain
  • Performing exceptional customer service duties
  • Regular facility maintenance & housekeeping

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in the operation of a grain elevator
  • Experience as a team lead/supervisor
  • Through knowledge and understanding of the grain industry, including grading factors and elevator equipment
  • Trained in Health & Safety procedures and a champion for safe work environment
  • Aptitude for maintenance and repair of grain elevator equipment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work within environment subject to dust and allergens and lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs)
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Post-Secondary education preferably in agriculture or business
