The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of headquarters buildings to ensure the facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained for all employees and visitors. This involves a wide range of duties across multiple trades, from routine upkeep and preventive maintenance to emergency repairs, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination across multiple site types to support business operations, tenant satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct regular inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs proactively
Conduct scheduled inspections, lubrication, filter changes, and testing on various systems and equipment to prevent future problems
Perform general and detailed repairs on various building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
Troubleshoot issues as they arise and determine the best course of action
Coordinate, monitor, and oversee the work of external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services, ensuring quality deliverables and compliance
Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, patching drywall, minor carpentry, door/lock repair, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and appearance of the facility
Maintain warehouse infrastructure such as dock doors, dock levelers, racking systems, lighting, and floor conditions
Provide general warehouse labor for sale prep, basic organizing, scrapping/selling items
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and fire code compliance issues
Responsible for building controls systems for HVAC, lighting, etc
Address routine maintenance requests from staff or tenants and provide prompt response to urgent situations like power outages, plumbing leaks, floods, spills or equipment failures which may require on-call/off hours availability
Assist grounds crew as necessary to keep the grounds safe for the building occupants
Requirements:
Proven experience in facilities maintenance, general construction, or a related field, preferably within a commercial office environment as well as, warehouse/retail building types
A strong understanding and technical expertise in a variety of trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, and general building maintenance
Strong ability to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently
A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team
Basic computer knowledge for record-keeping, email communication, and operating building automation and maintenance management systems
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
Ability to read work orders, manuals, and basic schematics
