Job Description:

Kamaʻāina Kids is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain safe, functional, and welcoming preschool environments across Oʻahu. This role is ideal for a reliable, experienced, hands-on professional who takes pride in fixing problems, maintaining spaces, and supporting environments where children learn and grow. You’ll work across multiple preschool campuses, handling a wide range of general maintenance needs—from classroom repairs to playground upkeep—ensuring our facilities remain safe, clean, and operational.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assemble and repair classroom furniture, shelving, and storage units
  • Fix doors, cabinets, drawers, and classroom fixtures
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including sink and toilet clogs
  • Replace light fixtures, bulbs, and ceiling tiles
  • Handle patch painting, light drywall repair, and general upkeep
  • Inspect and maintain playground and outdoor equipment
  • Travel between preschool sites using a company vehicle
  • Help ensure all facilities meet safety and cleanliness standards

Requirements:

  • Solid, hands-on experience in general maintenance or facilities work
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs
  • The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
  • Strong communication skills and a dependable work ethic
  • Comfort working in environments with children and understanding of safety expectations
  • A clean driving abstract and reliable transportation
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside on Oʻahu

Nice to have:

  • Experience in schools, childcare centers, property management, or similar settings is a strong plus
  • HVAC experience is a bonus but not required
