Job Responsibility

  • Assist the Director of Engineering in the day-to-day operations of the engineering department
  • Oversee general and preventative maintenance and repairs of guest rooms, meeting spaces, public areas, back of house areas, and equipment
  • Ensure proper execution of work order/systems requests
  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules
  • Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools
  • Inspect and observe equipment in operation
  • Ensure that meter readings are taken daily
  • Ensure Engineers maintain clean, organized, and safe working areas
  • Assist in supervising and training all Engineers
  • Ensure all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified
  • Assist the Director of Engineering with major projects
  • Provide assistance to other team members
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor

Requirements

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • 2-4 years previous hotel experience as a maintenance department supervisor or progressive maintenance responsibility
  • Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, screening, locks, HVAC, boiler operations, and proper tool and chemical use
  • The ability to lift, pull and push a moderate weight and the ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per shift)
  • Must be available to work evenings

Nice to have

  • Previous supervisory experience overseeing employees
  • Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
