Job Description

We’re the team behind the UK’s telecom networks—designing, building, upgrading, and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps the country connected. From large-scale fibre deployments to next-gen connectivity, Comex 2000 delivers with pace, precision, and innovation. We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of multiple company sites nationwide. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our buildings, facilities, and equipment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role where you’ll carry out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of disciplines including electrical, plumbing, joinery, and general building works. With regular travel required, including occasional overnight stays, no two days will be the same. If you’re practical, self-motivated, and enjoy working across varied environments, this is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced and growing organisation.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and minor installation works across multiple sites
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns
  • Travel to sites nationwide, including overnight stays where required
  • Maintain building fabric including doors, fixtures, flooring, and internal/external areas
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, joinery, and painting tasks
  • Conduct regular site inspections and report defects or risks
  • Ensure all sites meet health & safety and compliance standards
  • Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and materials required for tasks
  • Liaise with external contractors for specialist works when required
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
  • Support site teams with general facilities-related issues
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safe systems of work
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across all locations
  • Work flexibly, including outside normal hours where required

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or multi-trade/handyman role
  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
  • Able to work independently and effectively manage your workload
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with site teams
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Reliable, flexible, and proactive attitude
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Basic IT skills for reporting and communication
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or similar roles
  • Familiarity with safe working practices and compliance standards
  • Fluent English
