As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer you will assist in maintaining all plant and machinery (including internal office fixtures and fittings) including preventative maintenance and reactive work and conduct legislative tests. Play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards and conformity across the sector estate.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with H&S policies / procedures
Assist / support the supervision of sub-contractors on site
Understand and work with Planet (work control) system, ensuring work/job sheets are completed within agreed timescales
Complete works to meet departmental targets, SLA’s & KPI’s
Collaborate with line-manager / team to deliver best practices and develop cost reduction / efficiency improvement initiatives
Liaise with all TCE customers to ensure support and requirements are delivered to agreed timescales / standards
Utilise your basic understanding of following systems to carry out the tasks required: Fire alarms (including weekly testing) BMS system (re controls / temperature setting & adjustments). Mains & local electrical feeds / electrical plant room (Fault finding on electrical and mechanical plant following logical steps to resolve the issue when under pressure) HVAC systems / Fire suppression/gas systems / Fire Alarm Panels / Site drainage systems and Water schematics / systems
Support ad-hoc projects as required
Requirements:
Mechanical and Electrical experience
18th Edition Electrical
Fire Alarm Panel Knowledge
Driving Licence
Experience of plant systems
Experience in a similar role
Educated to GCSE or equivalent (English language and Mathematics are essential)
Ability to work to targets and timescales
Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
Quality focused
Mechanical competence
Self-motivated and be able to demonstrate a “get up and go” attitude
Excellent communication skills, including effective listening and an ability to liaise with varying levels of technical staff and customers
