To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Facilities Engineer located in Austin , TX. Reporting to the Facilities Manager the Facilities Engineer role applies engineering values to design, modify or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment or processes used in processing or manufacturing products. 6pm - 6am Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue + Alternating Wed

Job Responsibility:

  • Research facility products or equipment specifications and performance requirements to define designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods
  • Research engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to industrial facilities machinery and equipment design
  • Defines feasibility of designing new plant facilities equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning and other technical and economic factors
  • Provides technical facilities information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning
  • Compiles and research facilities research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment
  • Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
  • Guides projects and project teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, related degree or equivalent experience and training
  • Requires a minimum of 6+ years of related experience
  • Prefer some knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrates advanced operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough comprehension of Flex's and related business
  • Creates functional processes or technologies
  • Executes functional strategic plans and objectives at the site
  • Matter Expertise in one or more of the following areas: clean rooms, Walk-in Coolers & Freezers, RO/DI Water systems, Waste Neutralization, Compressed gas distribution systems, vacuum systems, Process chillers and non-clean utilities
  • Manufacturing plant construction in a cGMP industry
  • preferably in Medical Devices or Pharma
  • Facilities Engineering construction activity at MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Process) discipline
  • Fault/Root Cause Analysis and Review (FRACAS)
  • Utilities (steam, cooling media, heating media, water systems, compressed air)
