Job Description:

We are looking for a Facilities Electrician to join our team in Cramlington to undertake planned, preventive and reactive maintenance activities on equipment, tools and facilities across the whole site.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
  • Complete effective planned preventive maintenance of equipment with an emphasis on breakdown prevention through the continual development of PPM procedures
  • Maintain Manufacturing facilities (including PAT Testing, Testing and Maintenance of Emergency Lighting Systems, Fire Alarm Testing, CCTV Systems, Network Cabling and Small Fixed Wiring Installation Projects and Repairs)
  • Install and/or modify manufacturing equipment as required
  • Perform root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement effective reoccurrence prevention plans using tools such as Major Breakdown Reports
  • Work as part of a manufacturing and facilities maintenance team and demonstrate good communication skills in interfacing with other departments, suppliers, contractors and manufacturers as required
  • Operate access platforms including scissor lifts and cherry pickers
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of apprentices

Requirements:

  • Electrical background
  • Experience within a high volume-manufacturing environment
  • Experience of both 3-phase and single-phase low voltage electrical distribution systems, installations & machines
  • Good organisational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
  • Work in a safe manner
