Boeing’s Enterprise Services organization is currently looking for a Facilities Controls Engineer to join our Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) team located in Ridley Park, PA. Our team is hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Senior Engineers. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Boeing Ridley Park site’s facilities operations, equipment maintenance, reliability engineering and future site development. This role will partially support Arlington, VA; Huntsville, AL and Heath, OH sites with up to 15% travel. Your primary responsibilities will involve enhancing site infrastructure systems, with a particular emphasis on Building Automation Systems (BAS), industrial environmental controls, and lighting control systems. You will work collaboratively with a high-performing facilities operations team and contribute to the Enterprise GREF Engineering team, engaging with colleagues from various technical backgrounds to drive innovation and efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Building Automation Systems (hardware, servers, software, and networks)
Diagnose and resolve environmental control issues (temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow, noise, IAQ) to recommend and implement solutions
Configure, program, calibrate and test controllers and sensors to integrate into BAS networks
Design and program setpoints and control logic (temperature, humidity, pressure, time, on/off)
Investigate failures, determine root causes to develop corrective actions and workarounds
Plan and specify system/equipment improvements and preventative maintenance
Lead special projects, support commissioning of new assets and identify technology/integration opportunities
Ensure safety, maintainability, reliability, ergonomics and regulatory compliance
Translate customer requirements into design options, documentation, estimates and assist with contract scopes
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years of experience with building electrical and mechanical systems
3+ years of experience working in a facilities engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
3+ years of experience with one or more of the following Building Automation Systems (Trane, Honeywell and/or Johnson Controls Metasys)
3+ years of full time aerospace industry experience within Environmental Controls, Flight Controls, and/or Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems
Ability to travel 15%
Nice to have:
Degree in the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Robotics Engineering
5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of experience with PLC (programmable logic control) hardware
5+ years of experience with equipment reliability or machine troubleshooting
5+ years of experience supporting building lighting controls
5+ years of experience supporting building environmental controls
5+ years of experience modifying computer programs
Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Revit software
