We are looking for a Facilities Assistant on an as need basis to provide hands-on office and workplace support for a contract position based in New York, New York. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, highly active environment and can help keep shared spaces organized, clean, and ready for employees and guests. The position works closely with the Workplace Experience Manager and requires a detail-oriented approach, strong service skills, and the ability to handle physical tasks throughout the day.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain office readiness by replenishing pantry, kitchen, and refrigerator supplies throughout the day
Support daily facility operations by removing waste, tidying common areas, and helping keep the workplace clean and presentable
Assist with event and meeting setup, including preparing conference rooms and restoring spaces after use
Handle mailroom and general office support tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Move deliveries, supplies, and boxes as needed while helping with light loading and unloading activities
Manage kitchen upkeep by clearing catering items, organizing supplies, and operating dishwashing equipment when required
Walk the office floor regularly to identify service needs and respond quickly to workplace requests
Interact effectively with clients, visitors, and employees while representing the workplace team in an experienced manner
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in facilities, office support, workplace services, or a similar hands-on environment
Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform physically active duties throughout the shift
Strong customer service and client-facing communication skills with a detail-oriented and approachable demeanor
Comfortable working in a reactive environment and adjusting priorities based on immediate workplace needs
Familiarity with facilities support tools or systems such as CMMS or other computerized maintenance management platforms
Experience supporting conference rooms, mailroom functions, or general office operations is preferred
Knowledge of waste removal, restocking processes, and kitchen or pantry maintenance tasks
Ability to maintain a neat, business-casual presentation appropriate for an office setting
