Job Description

At Hyatt Regency DFW, service is more than a job — it’s who we are. Our colleagues create meaningful moments for guests and each other, guided by empathy, collaboration, and pride in delivering exceptional hospitality. With 811 guestrooms and 92,000 sq. ft. of event space, we’re a dynamic, fast‑paced environment where no two days look the same. We are looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our Engineering team — a hands-on leader who thrives in operations, excels at coordination, and is passionate about keeping a large hotel property running safely and smoothly. This is a Second Shift, entry level hourly management position supporting the daily operations of the Engineering and Facilities department. As the Assistant Facilities Manager, you’ll work closely with the Facilities Manager and Director of Engineering to oversee maintenance activities, coordinate projects, guide evening-shift team members, and ensure the hotel remains safe, operational, and guest‑ready around the clock. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled, organized, people-focused leader ready for the next step in their engineering or facilities career, especially someone who thrives during later-shift operations when problem-solving and independent decision-making are key.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in planning and coordinating hotel maintenance projects with operational partners
  • Monitor ongoing work for quality and adherence to Hyatt brand standards
  • Inspect team work regularly for safety, quality, and timely completion
  • Serve as liaison for contractors and vendors
  • Ensure clear communication, successful project delivery, and alignment with hotel expectations

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and on‑the‑job training to engineering team members
  • Support routine safety and equipment training
  • Track supplies, tools, and materials to maintain inventory and cost controls
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Help manage accurate timekeeping, payroll, and attendance
  • Promote compliance with all hotel, local, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest maintenance concerns
  • Support emergency response procedures and participate in drills

Requirements

  • 1+ years of hotel or hospitality experience and 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge required
  • Service‑driven, guest‑focused mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with professional presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

What we offer

  • Medical, Dental, Vision benefits offered at 30 days of employment
  • Complimentary on-site hotel covered parking
  • Complimentary colleague meal during shift
  • 401k options and company match
  • Discounted and complimentary hotel accommodations anywhere in the world
  • Paid Holidays, Sick Time & Vacation
