We are looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our Engineering team — a hands-on leader who thrives in operations, excels at coordination, and is passionate about keeping a large hotel property running safely and smoothly. This is a Second Shift, entry level hourly management position supporting the daily operations of the Engineering and Facilities department. As the Assistant Facilities Manager, you’ll work closely with the Facilities Manager and Director of Engineering to oversee maintenance activities, coordinate projects, guide evening-shift team members, and ensure the hotel remains safe, operational, and guest‑ready around the clock. Job Responsibility:
Assist in planning and coordinating hotel maintenance projects with operational partners
Monitor ongoing work for quality and adherence to Hyatt brand standards
Inspect team work regularly for safety, quality, and timely completion
Serve as liaison for contractors and vendors
Ensure clear communication, successful project delivery, and alignment with hotel expectations
Participate in evening pre-shifts and help delegate shift tasks
Provide coaching, guidance, and on‑the‑job training to engineering team members
Support routine safety and equipment training
Track supplies, tools, and materials to maintain inventory and cost controls
Assist with departmental budgeting and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Help manage accurate timekeeping, payroll, and attendance
Promote compliance with all hotel, local, state, and federal safety regulations
Respond promptly and courteously to guest maintenance concerns
Support emergency response procedures and participate in drills
Requirements:
1+ years of hotel or hospitality experience and 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge required
Service‑driven, guest‑focused mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication, along with professional presentation skills
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems
Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
