Becoming an apprentice at AxisCLC is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and training. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, whilst learning on the job. You will be expected to attend school/college once a week as part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you could be offered a permanent position. As a Factilities Apprentice you will support the smooth and efficient operation of the Estates & Facilities function by assisting with day‑to‑day facilities tasks, developing core Facilities Management skills through structured on‑the‑job learning and formal apprenticeship training. This role is based in our Stratford office with some expected travel to our other sites as required.

Job Responsibility

  • Attend Axis Induction, Health & Safety training, Training and College Induction
  • Ensure college course attendance is 100% and college absence communicated to your Line Manager
  • Communicate any absence from work as per your contractual terms and conditions
  • Communicate college requirements for completion of the Level 2 apprenticeship portfolio work with Axis mentor, Apprentice Co-ordinator, and Line Manager
  • Respond to general facilities queries from staff and visitors
  • Assist with daily operational tasks across the building, including room checks, replenishment, and basic housekeeping standards
  • Support the coordination and tracking of maintenance requests, ensuring timely follow‑up
  • Participate in building walk‑rounds to identify issues and report defects
  • Assist with contractor sign‑in, permits, and supervision of simple tasks
  • Support basic health & safety checks (e.g., fire points, first aid kits, workstation setups)
  • Help maintain asset and compliance records, including updating logs and registers
  • Maintain accurate records of facilities requests, actions, and resolutions
  • Assist with deliveries, post distribution, and basic inventory checks
  • Support the Estates & Facilities Manager with ad hoc administrative and operational tasks
  • Contribute to documentation, filing, and data entry to support compliance and audit readiness
  • Reception Coverage - provide cover for the main reception desk during scheduled staff breaks and absences
  • Welcome visitors and staff in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and welcoming reception environment
  • Support visitor management processes, including sign‑in and issuing passes
  • Participate fully in the formal apprenticeship programme
  • Work with the Estates & Facilities Manager to develop core FM competencies aligned to the apprenticeship standard
  • Attend relevant training sessions, toolbox talks, and site inductions
  • Build understanding of FM disciplines including soft services, hard services, compliance, and customer service
