As Facilities and Infrastructure Manager for CDSCC, you will lead a multidisciplinary facilities team supporting NASA’s Deep Space Network at CDSCC, overseeing critical infrastructure and engineering operations. This leadership role offers the opportunity to interact with staff, customers, and stakeholders at both operational and executive levels. Drawing on your extensive technical knowledge, you will provide innovative solutions to complex problems and high-level advice on complex technical and engineering matters. You will provide expert advice and influence strategic decisions across a globally connected site.
Job Responsibility:
Lead strategic planning and delivery of site-wide facilities services, including HVAC, electrical, water, fire protection, and grounds maintenance
Provide expert technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams, driving innovation and reliability in maintenance practices
Oversee infrastructure projects and upgrades, ensuring coordination with internal teams and international partners such as JPL/NASA
Manage budgets and procurement, ensuring compliance with CSIRO policies and efficient resource allocation
Foster a collaborative team culture, contributing to senior management and promoting cross-functional cooperation
Champion safety and compliance, implementing safe systems of work and supporting HSE and diversity initiatives
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, in conjunction with demonstrated leadership and managerial experience in an industrial maintenance environment at a senior level
Broad experience in management and customer-focused facilities maintenance and operations, and the delivery of complex engineering outcomes on time and to budget
Relevant qualification in Project Management or equivalent experience, with relevant experience demonstrated within large or complex organisations
A strong history of establishing and working effectively in teams, encouraging new ideas, building trust, and providing support for the development of emerging skills
Proven ability to think strategically and balance long-term planning with short-term operational oversight
The capacity to embrace change management initiatives with demonstrated success in the implementation of cultural change
Demonstrated experience in ensuring safe working practices and effective environmental management
