Job Description:

As a Facilities Aide at The Oncenter, you will be responsible for the conversion process in preparation for events in all facilities and assist with the general cleaning and maintenance of all facilities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Set up and take down flooring, chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables, and other items/equipment for the successful execution of events
  • Operate all equipment necessary to maintain the facility including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines, or other power-driven equipment
  • Perform facility cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning and stocking restrooms
  • sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, carpet cleaning, window washing, and waxing as needed
  • Clean, monitor, and restock restrooms
  • Provide snow removal, maintenance of the facilities grounds, and other general labor activities
  • Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed
  • Ensure proper facility preparations for event needs as required
  • Assist clients and facility visitors as needed
  • Attend and participate in planning, training, and staff meetings
  • Participate in safety programs to achieve safety goals
  • Report to work when scheduled, on time, in proper and clean uniform
  • Personal appearance and grooming must conform to dress code
  • Maintain safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience working in an event set-up or related field preferred
  • Work effectively under pressure and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and attitude are essential
  • Have a working knowledge of hand tools
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours
  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly with clients and coworkers
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime shifts as needed
  • Must be able to maintain reliable attendance
  • Must be able to walk/stand/sit for long periods of time
  • Must have the physical ability to maneuver around the venue, at times walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs+, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting
  • Must have the physical ability to bend, stoop, and maneuver around facility(ies), at times extensive walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater as required
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility to move quickly to the different areas of the facility as demands require
  • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment
