McMullen Façades is a leading unitised specialist façade contractor providing full design, fabrication and installation of unitised panels for medium and large scale building projects. We are seeking Fabricators to join our teambased Carlton-on-Trent. Competitive rate. Hours are 7:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Job Responsibility:
Interpret and understand work instructions, including work packages and technical drawings
As part of a team or individually, assemble windows, unitised and stick curtain walling, roof-lights and doors to the required specifications as per system supplier’s requirements ensuring good working practices
Operate workshop machinery, including overhead cranes saws, grinders, crimpers, drills and saws, tools and measuring equipment
Fabricate/bond panels & flashings and factory glazing of doors and windows
Check and inspect work, and complete quality documentation
Prepare all completed materials for dispatch to customer in line with standard operating procedures which are project specific
Keeps area clean, check equipment and encourage others to do the same
Operate as part of the pre-production facility team if and when required, completing duties to include taping, kitting and issuing accessories and metal, checking materials in and out and quality checking
Requirements:
Previous experience as an aluminium fabricator/assembler with factory based work experience including fabrication of aluminum windows/curtain walling/shop fronts
Understanding of H&S requirements within a work shop environment
Experience of operating work shop machinery
Experience of quality systems and processes
Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision
GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade C or above
Manual Handling/Lifting Equipment experience
Previous experience in a metal manufacturing environment using CNC machining
Previous joinery experience
Experience of “Lean manufacturing” processes
Nice to have:
