Job Description

The Trim and Square position plays a key role in the production process by receiving joined fabric and accurately trimming it to specific measurements.

Job Responsibility

  • Receive joined fabric from joiners and inspect for straight hems and proper pattern alignment
  • Read work tickets carefully to determine shade type and required measurements
  • Trim fabric accurately to specified dimensions
  • Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE
  • report any unsafe conditions or defective equipment
  • Use tools like staple guns and saws safely
  • wear safety glasses when required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • participate in daily housekeeping
  • Unplug irons, drills, and return tools to designated spots at the end of each shift
  • Report all near misses, accidents, or injuries immediately to your supervisor

Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure
  • General knowledge of fabrics
  • Ability to use production equipment
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Successfully pass color blind test
  • Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time
  • Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
  • Strong attention to details
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
