We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Order Taker to join our dynamic team in Istanbul, Türkiye. In this role, you will be the vital link between our customers and our operations, ensuring every order is accurately captured, processed, and communicated with precision and enthusiasm. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your ability to remain calm, organized, and collaborative directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility
Receive and accurately record customer orders through various channels (in-person, phone, or digital systems) with meticulous attention to detail
Input orders into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately, ensuring all specifications and special requests are clearly documented
Clarify customer requirements and preferences through active listening and thoughtful questioning to ensure complete order accuracy
Communicate orders clearly to relevant departments (kitchen, fulfillment, etc.) in a timely manner to maintain smooth operations
Process payments accurately and handle cash transactions with integrity and precision
Upsell and promote products and services at appropriate opportunities to maximize sales revenue while maintaining authenticity
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products, services, pricing, and preparation methods to provide informed recommendations
Assist customers with inquiries regarding menu items, availability, and customization options in a friendly and empathetic manner
Perform opening and closing duties as assigned, including workstation setup and organization according to established standards
Collaborate with team members across departments during peak times to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures as required by organizational policy
Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management to support team objectives
Requirements
Proven customer service experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in hospitality, food service, or retail
Proficiency with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills
Strong reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English language
Excellent numerical accuracy and cash handling experience
Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining focus on customer needs and order accuracy
Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team
Self-motivated, energetic, and goal-oriented approach to work
Ability to speak additional languages is an advantage
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards is preferred
Knowledge of fire and life safety procedures is preferred
Problem-solving abilities and flexibility in adapting to changing priorities
