The F&B Hostess is the first point of contact for guests at the Chinese Restaurant, responsible for delivering a warm, gracious, and culturally attuned welcome. This role ensures smooth reservation management and seating flow while enhancing the overall dining experience through attentive coordination and personalized service, in line with luxury hospitality standards.
Job Responsibility:
Greet and welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
Manage reservations, walk-ins, and seating arrangements efficiently using the restaurant booking system
Maintain an organized table allocation plan, including private dining rooms and large group bookings
Escort guests to tables and present menus, highlighting signature dishes or specials when appropriate
Handle guest inquiries, special requests (e.g., dietary restrictions, celebrations), and complaints tactfully
Coordinate closely with service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth and timely operations
Support the management of VIP guests and special occasions, ensuring personalized experiences
Monitor dining room flow, especially during peak meal periods and family-style dining service
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the reception/host stand area
Uphold brand standards, grooming, and hygiene at all times
Assist with administrative duties such as reservation confirmations and guest database updates
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or upscale Chinese restaurant preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance with a polished and welcoming demeanor
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
Familiarity with reservation systems is an advantage
Fluency in English
proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is highly preferred
Understanding of Chinese dining etiquette and culture is an advantage
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations
Must have the right to work in Malaysia
