Job Description:

We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Saltash. This is a full-time role supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage with a range of special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality, child-centred support, helping pupils to access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported within the school environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to EYFS pupils with SEN
  • Support children with personal care needs, including nappy changing and toileting
  • Assist with the delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
  • Help to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
  • Observe, monitor, and contribute to assessments and progress records

Requirements:

  • Experience working with EYFS-aged children (preferred)
  • Experience or interest in supporting children with SEN
  • Willingness and confidence to support with personal care, including nappy changing
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
