EYFS Leader and Class Teacher – Full-time, fixed-term from July 2026 with initial contract from September to December 2026. The position combines strategic leadership of EYFS with class teaching responsibilities and plays a key role in supporting transition for the new Reception intake. The EYFS Leader and Class Teacher will work closely with colleagues and the leadership team to ensure consistency, creativity, and high standards across early years provision.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage provision with support from senior leaders and early years colleagues
Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and developmentally appropriate EYFS lessons
Fulfil class teacher responsibilities, including assessment, planning, and reporting
Support the transition of new Reception pupils through transition week and induction activities
Provide effective class handover and support whole‑school transition arrangements
Monitor and support high‑quality teaching and learning across EYFS
Build strong relationships with children, families, and staff
Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and early years statutory requirements are fully met
Contribute positively to wider school life and collaborative working
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status
Proven experience as an EYFS lead and class teacher
Strong understanding of early years pedagogy and effective classroom practice
Demonstrates commitment to keeping children safe in education
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Resilient, organized, and confident in leading others
Creative approach that drives teaching and learning across EYFS
Motivated and passionate about achieving the best outcomes for young children
Able to support and lead Reception transition for September 2026
