Extrusion Technician

• Support film extrusion equipment operation and set-up
• Troubleshooting
• Providing recommendations and implementing solutions to resolve equipment and/or process problems in a timely manner
• Application of sound principles to drive improvements in tooling, production, processing, and equipment in a continuous and timely manner
• Ensure machines are functional and safe to operate
• Report safety problems immediately and operate equipment safely
• Write and revise SOPs
• Support or own work orders, deviations, and audit observations for equipment activities
• Maintain quality on parts being produced and report any quality problems
• Perform 5S activities
• Perform all material handling functions (raw materials and finished goods)
• Control flow of materials using standardized work
• Avoid passing defects to next process
• Report daily line problems and countermeasures
• Meet daily production levels
• Determine correct shipping and receiving requirements

• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply new skills, concepts, and applications
• Flexible and capable of adapting to change
• High School/GED – Technical Certificate or higher preferred
• Ability to handle up to fifty (50) pounds with physical dexterity to assemble and operate test equipment
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, plastics processing experience preferred
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain charts, graphs, and production reports
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements and to gauge parts if needed
• Ability to understand production goals and associated documentation
• Ability to ensure compliance with quality systems, policies, procedures, and practices and all local, state, federal and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
