Job Description:

We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Aluminum Extrusion Press Operator at our Brampton Plant. Can Art Aluminum Extrusion is a privately held North American based extruder of standard and custom aluminum profiles. Can Art has grown from a single press operation in 1988 to the multi plant, multi press operation that we are today. Job Responsibility:

Set up machinery and ensure all required materials are readily available
Run the press in sequence of the job orders
Set the press to the correct temperature and run speed per the work instructions to optimize for good quality product
Monitor all operations on the line to ensure that parts are produced to customer specification
Monitor the production equipment and report any machine issue to the supervisor and maintenance team in a timely manner
Meet daily targets for schedule adherence, activation, etc.
Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
Must be able to read and write in English
Must be able to use a measuring tape to read and take measurements
Basic computer skills required
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent organizational and motivational skills
Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a manufacturing environment

Nice to have:

Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
Previous experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing environment is an asset
