Experience working in Exterior Trim design and development
Create and maintain detailed Gantt charts for multiple design projects to ensure successful launches within stipulated timelines
Track progress and encourage teamwork to achieve each milestone on time
Interface with the Test Department and Exterior Trim suppliers to keep the validation program on track for vehicle production start, including BOM management
Utilize Jira to communicate engineering tasks and track progress
Utilize Confluence to publish critical information
Provide regular progress updates to management and executive staff
Lead design release and engineering change requests through the Lucid ECR system
Develop and manage process initiatives to streamline project tracking
Provide technical guidance to resolve engineering challenges with mechanical systems

Requirements

5+ years of experience in vehicle exterior component design & development
Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6
Proven experience with thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies (including painting)
A good understanding of the range of computational tools available to design engineers
Launch experience Advantageous
A flair for creative engineering and 3D problem solving
Five or more years of experience with plastics design, Class A surfaces, front crash, aero features, lighting integration, module integration, tooling, resins, supply base, fit and finish, gap and flush, module concept, thermal expansion, structural design, paint (matching)
Five or more years of experience with the development of glazing, wipers, wash systems or OSRVM
