High School Graduate or GED and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service
or One (1) year experience as a Security Officer
Security Guard: CA, upon hire
Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
Familiar with duties and responsibility of being a security officer
Able to properly use assigned equipment and follow established policies and procedures
Maintain all other required training/certifications thereafter while employed by CommonSpirit Health
Completes ICS 100, 200, 700 training courses within 90 days of hire
Must be able to speak English, communicate clearly orally, and in writing
Knowledgeable in the use of de-escalation techniques

Job Responsibility

Monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors
Monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises
Guard facility and unit access points, monitor surveillance cameras, test new security technology, and protect all employees/visitors against acts of violence
Respond to emergency codes in a timely manner
Protect staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance
Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle
Monitor security alarms and dispatch officers
Report unsafe acts or conditions
Report HIPAA breaches if witnessed
Investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports
