Job Description

Export Control Officer position Airbus Netherlands B.V. For our contracts and legal department, we are looking for a reliable business enabling professional who will act as export control officer.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure compliance with EU, U.S., and international trade laws and regulations as well as Airbus policies in both our organization and projects
  • Develop and coordinate export control policies and procedures implementation
  • Have a steering role towards the different departments
  • Provide practical guidance to projects and departments and answer questions regarding export compliance
  • Take the lead in implementing policy and provide awareness sessions and trainings to the organization and proactively identify and mitigate export compliance risks
  • Ensure the necessary contractual arrangements for exchange of export controlled data and items are in place
  • Manage classification of goods, export licensing, technology control, due diligence screening, internal audit controls, export control training program, and recordkeeping
  • Be the export control main point of contact and liaise with the relevant governments, customers and the Airbus organization to obtain the correct information, export licenses and approvals
  • Be part of – and have regular exchanges with - the Airbus Export control network
  • Potentially tasks will be supplemented with privacy officer responsibilities, contract management tasks or other compliance activities

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of national and international export control regulation (i.a. NL/EU Dual-Use and Military items, ITAR and EAR)
  • Around five years of experience in an export control position in an innovation driven, international, high-tech environment
  • Experience in the aerospace and or defense industry is highly valued
  • Solution oriented attitude and an ability to capture the essence of matters
  • Awareness of compliance risks is essential
  • Relationship builder and networker
  • High degree of credibility, independence, integrity and trust
  • Excellent advising skills and a talent to tailor your message, be it on project- or management team level
  • Degree in Law, Engineering or a related discipline
