We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Exploration Geologist to join our team in Suriname. In this key role, you will lead and execute geological exploration programs, from field mapping and drilling to advanced geological modeling. You will play a central part in target generation, resource delineation, and technical reporting, ensuring all activities meet the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and international compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, execute, and supervise field exploration activities, including geological mapping, drill program management, sampling, and logging to ensure data accuracy and integrity
Conduct detailed analysis of geological structures, alteration patterns, and mineralization controls to develop and refine exploration targets and ore body models
Prepare, update, and manage comprehensive geological reports, cross-sections, geological models, and resource estimation documentation in compliance with international standards (JORC / NI 43-101)
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and supervision to junior geologists and field technicians, ensuring all work meets company technical, safety, and environmental protocols
Act as a technical liaison, engaging with external consultants, research institutions, and regulatory bodies in project reviews, audits, and collaborative technical exchanges
Utilize GIS and geological modeling software to integrate and interpret multi-disciplinary geoscientific data
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Geological Sciences, or a closely related field
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in mineral exploration, with a strong preference for experience in gold deposits and/or active mining environments
Demonstrated proficiency in industry-standard geological software, including GIS platforms (ArcGIS/QGIS), Surpac, and Micromine
Proven experience in planning and managing drilling programs, geological logging, sampling protocols, and data validation
In-depth understanding of international mineral resource reporting standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101)
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to perform under pressure in remote locations
Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Nice to have:
Experience working in the Guiana similar greenstone belt terrains
Master’s degree in Economic Geology or a related specialization
Project management experience and a valid driver’s license for 4x4 vehicles
