Job Description:

Are you passionate about safeguarding children and young people from harms outside the home, do you have strategic mindset capable of coordinating disruption planning in a multi-agency setting? We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Exploitation and Missing Co-ordinator to join our dynamic, contextual safeguarding partnership hub. This position is pivotal in spearheading the intelligence-led disruption of perpetrators and the protection of vulnerable young people across Birmingham, the role does not include direct casework with children and families but will require occasional joint visits.

Job Responsibility:

  • Spearheading the intelligence-led disruption of perpetrators and the protection of vulnerable young people across Birmingham
  • Developing thorough assessment of harm or risk, utilising a contextual safeguarding approach
  • Analysing intelligence, identifying emerging trends, and coordinating robust disruption plans that target perpetrators and prevent exploitation
  • Forging and nurturing strong partnerships between the Empower U Hub, the wider community, and various agencies
  • Strengthening collective response to child exploitation, serious youth violence and missing episodes
  • Enhancing the safeguarding landscape citywide
  • Working collaboratively with experienced professionals from social care, police, education, and community agencies
  • Driving multi-agency efforts, managing information flow, and ensuring that disruption activity is effective, timely, and intelligence-led
  • Raising awareness among social workers, family support workers, youth offending teams, and other stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of the issues surrounding child exploitation and missing children
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Keen awareness of the complexities facing young people in Birmingham
  • Proven ability to assess vulnerabilities and coordinate safeguarding responses
  • Exceptional organisational and coordination abilities
  • Adept at managing intelligence and orchestrating disruption of perpetrators
  • Must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham
  • Have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK
