The Lean Operations team at PG&E establishes the strategy and approach to ensure the continued adoption and sustainment of PG&E’s lean methodology. Specifically, this position will support the team tasked with implementing the Lean Operating System across Electric and Gas Operations. The goals for the team are: Develop and support leadership engagement at all levels of Operations, including union leadership on the Lean Operating System (Lean); Expand implementation of the 5 Lean plays to other organizations, based on pull and capacity; Establish standards and controls to ensure quality and consistency; Organize and support the cross-functional problem solving in 19 Divisions; Engage and support front line workers, and unlock the power of coworker engagement with Lean, PSEMS and Breakthrough Thinking; Align Lean implementation approach with Enterprise Lean Office.
Job Responsibility:
Manages aspects of program implementation and operations
Ensures program is operating effectively
Conducting side-by-side quality assurance reviews with Lean Specialists to assess consistency and effectiveness in program delivery
Managing relationship with and providing direction to vendor(s)
Developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts
Developing, measuring and reporting on success of the program
Partnering with the Marketing organization, vendors and external partners to develop and implement strategies to reach appropriate customer audience at the appropriate time
Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners
Partnering with Regulatory and Compliance staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and support regulatory activities by supplying information for filings, data requests, and meeting with regulators
Identifying stakeholders and communicate within and outside of PG&E
Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures
Identifying new partners, technologies, and delivery channels
Applies broad expertise and advanced knowledge to wide-ranging issues
May act as a team lead and provide direction to less experienced employees
Works with Directors and Managers across functions to influence decisions
Communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media
Integrates industry knowledge related to data into everyday business practices and decision making
Provides others with guidance around complex industry regulatory and compliance environment and considerations
Creates new and complex data models to facilitate business decisions
Provides direction on overall program
Performs in-depth quality assurance final reviews and contract drafts
Develops new or revises existing scopes of work to ensure compliance standards and deliverables are established
Requirements:
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
8 years of related experience or equivalent
Nice to have:
Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
Quality Assurance & Control: Experience conducting audits and ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.
Process Mapping Expertise: Ability to visualize, analyze, and optimize workflows across diverse functions.
Technical Writing: Skilled in developing clear, concise guidance documents and standard operating procedures.
Lean Methodologies: Certified in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or recognized as a Certified Problem Solver, with a proven track record of driving process improvements.
Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to varied audiences.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively across departments, fostering alignment and shared ownership of outcomes.
