Join Amgen’s Mission to Serve Patients. As an Expert Graphic Designer within the Scientific Communications team of the Global Medical Organization, you will be responsible for delivering innovative, visually compelling, and scientifically accurate design solutions. These will span all therapeutic areas (General Medicine, Inflammation, Oncology, Rare Disease, Obesity), tailored to global audiences via impactful formats and relevant channels.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and deliver high-quality visual communication materials including scientific posters, infographics, slide decks, interactive PDFs, MoA schematics, and visual abstracts
  • Support multimedia content creation including animations, audio/video, AR/VR modules, and digital congress assets
  • Translate complex scientific data into clear, impactful visuals in collaboration with content managers and medical experts
  • Develop and maintain design systems, templates, and style guides to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Manage workflows, version control, and approvals in alignment with enterprise systems and SOPs
  • Drive adoption of design best practices and innovative tools including AI-enabled workflows
  • Stay current on emerging design technologies (e.g., motion graphics, omnichannel platforms, accessibility standards)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, brand, and scientific communication standards

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia, Digital Media, Journalism, Life Sciences, or related field with 6+ years of experience in content creation, visual storytelling, or digital medical communications
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with 8+ years of experience in scientific/medical content design or multimedia production
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition)
  • Strong experience designing scientific posters, infographics, medical illustrations, and multimedia content for pharma/biotech
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for high-impact scientific presentations
  • Experience creating and managing visual systems and templates
  • Understanding of medical/scientific terminology and data visualisation principles
  • Ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Familiarity with compliance and publication standards in pharma communications
  • Knowledge of digital and web design principles for cross-channel adaptability

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries
  • Proven ability to create digital-first medical content (animations, AR/VR, omnichannel assets)
  • Comfort with AI tools, motion graphics, and design automation platforms
