Boeing India ecommerce team under the Boeing Global Services (BGS) vertical and part of BIETC team is currently looking for Experienced User Experience (UX) Researcher to join their team in Bangalore. This team develops software applications and solutions that create direct value for aviation customers. Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with senior researchers and designers on project teams to create effective, usable and satisfying user experiences with information technology
Plan, design, and execute comprehensive user research studies using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
Lead user-centered design activities throughout the product development lifecycle
Conduct primary user research through contextual inquiries, in-depth interviews, field studies, surveys, and diary studies
Develop research strategies and protocols that align with product and business objectives
Recruit, screen, and manage research participants across diverse user segments
Define user requirements, personas, journey maps, and usability goals based on research findings
Analyze and synthesize research data to identify patterns, insights, and opportunity areas
Support the creation of user interaction design alternatives and building of prototypes based on research insights
Conduct usability tests, heuristic evaluations, A/B tests, and other evaluative research to measure design effectiveness
Diagnose usability issues and provide evidence-based recommendations for improvements
Present research findings and strategic recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
Maintain research repositories and contribute to organizational research operations practices
Work on development and support of Boeing Global Service (BGS) ecommerce applications
Work closely with other development / support teams in India, US and other locations
Provide mentorship to junior resources
Provide support to development of internal competency and resources for critical skill sets
Research & provide recommendations on new technologies / trends, best practices to improve the product development activities
Work in close cooperation and actively aligns with the technical roadmap, interaction design, development and testing with similar teams based in USA or other regions
Create and maintain necessary documentation
Keep track and actively reduce technical debts (hardening the software) while working with other developers / leads / architects / SM / PO / etc.
Experience of working in Agile teams while following the Agile & SAFe practices on software craftsmanship such as test-driven development & pair programming / peer reviews
Support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, mentoring, customer engagement, etc.
Learn and work on new as well as multiple tools / skills / roles
Travel domestically and internationally as required
Selected candidates might have to work in shift hours (morning, general or night)
Requirements:
Must have experience in planning and executing mixed-methods research studies (qualitative and quantitative)
Must have strong research methodology knowledge including generative research, evaluative research, and longitudinal studies
Must have experience with qualitative data analysis techniques (thematic analysis, affinity mapping, coding)
Must have quantitative analysis skills including survey design, statistical literacy, and interpreting analytics data
Must have experience in most of the core UX skill areas for simplifying user experience, especially with a product-industry background
Must be a self-starter with intellectual curiosity, positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment
Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside
Must have experience in translating research insights into actionable design recommendations and strategic opportunities
Must have experience in development of solutions through brainstorming, sketching, and creation of mockups and prototypes, regularly seeking feedback from the team
Must have experience in leading and independently conducting UX research activities
Must have hands-on work experience with Figma and research tools (e.g., User Testing, Qualtrics, Optimal Workshop, Dovetail, Miro)
Must have exceptional storytelling abilities with strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have ability to analyze and prepare comprehensive research reports, proposals, UX specifications, and insight presentations
Must have experience in coordinating with various stakeholders including product owners, business analysts, development and QA teams across multiple time zones
Must have strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
Must have experience in reviewing results of surveys and analytics to understand the impact on the products
Must demonstrate empathy, active listening skills, and ability to probe effectively during research sessions
Nice to have:
Good to have experience in conducting moderated and unmoderated usability tests, card sorting, and tree testing
Good to have applied experience using Apple HIG design standard or Google's Material Design standards for web apps
Good to have experience in creation of design systems
Good to have experience in UX for e-commerce platforms
Good to have experience with accessibility research and inclusive design practices
Good to have understanding of research ethics, consent protocols, and data privacy considerations
Bachelor's or master’s degree in human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Anthropology, or related field, or equivalent experience, is required
Portfolio demonstrating research projects, methodologies employed, and impact of findings on product decisions
Candidates with experience in Aviation domain will be preferred
Experience working in a global organization is preferred
Candidates with relevant certification would be preferred
Candidates with Aviation related application development background would be preferred
Candidates with experience in SAFe Agile methodologies would be preferred
