Job Description

This full-time temporary role involves supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Helping pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning
  • Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff
  • Providing consistent, individualised support
  • Adapting approach to meet each student’s emotional, behavioural, and learning needs

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils within the classroom
  • A proactive, resilient, and compassionate attitude
  • Must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa
  • Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Children’s Workforce (or Children’s & Adults’) update service, or be willing to obtain one
